SUMMARY:TalentQ Seminar | Diego Andrade
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Diego Andrade Canosa \nAbstract: Benchmarking Quantum Computers is required to objectively evaluate these platforms’ performance\, stressing their capabilities and leading the evolution of the hardware platforms. Some approaches work at the hardware level and are not necessarily linked to any practical application\, others are based on representative real-world use cases of this technology. This seminar will introduce the attendees to the topic of benchmarking Quantum Computers. Then\, we will focus on our approach “The NEASQC Benchmark Suite (TNBS)”\, an application-driven approach designed to measure the speed and accuracy of quantum platforms when executing representative workloads. We will also introduce the audience to its code repository and main support documents. \nRegistration: https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/debd0fe1-213d-4ff4-9663-c0cde9d6f761@8f0d452c-b7a4-4964-b810-8c397374477b

SUMMARY:TalentQ Seminar - Vedran Dunjko
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Vedran Dunjko \nTitle: Topics in quantum topological data analysis \nAbstract: Although still arguably an emerging field in classical machine learning\, topological data analysis has already raised substantial interest from the perspective of quantum algorithms in the last few years\, and for good reasons. In this talk we will explain why this is the case. We will introduce the topic of topological data analysis and discuss the state-of-art of quantum algorithms for computational problems in TDA – this will include the problems of estimating the so-called Betti numbers and the problems of deciding pursuance of topological features in data. We will address their promises and limitations\, possible generalizations and connections to many-body physics. \nRegistration: https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/ed8df57b-f8f3-4bd1-b55b-ced879a18fc1@8f0d452c-b7a4-4964-b810-8c397374477b
