SUMMARY:Seminar | Ainesh Bakshi
DESCRIPTION:🗓️03/03/2026\n\n \n\nSpeaker: Ainesh Bakshi\n\n \n\nTitle: Entanglement in quantum spin chains is strictly finite at any temperature\n\n \n\nAbstract: Entanglement is the hallmark of quantum physics\, yet its characterization in interacting many-body systems at thermal equilibrium remains one of the most important challenges in quantum statistical physics. In this talk\, Ainesh will show that the Gibbs state of any quantum spin chain can be exactly decomposed into a mixture of matrix product states with a bond dimension that is independent of the system size\, at any finite temperature. As a consequence\, the Schmidt number\, arguably the most stringent measure of bipartite entanglement\, is strictly finite for thermal states\, even in the thermodynamic limit. The decomposition is explicit and is accompanied by an efficient classical algorithm to sample the resulting matrix product states.\n\n \n\nRegistration: https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/fe73a7c6-0723-43d0-9ebe-d05ffd43eec2@8f0d452c-b7a4-4964-b810-8c397374477b

SUMMARY:Seminar | Dr Carmen Palacios
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dr Carmen Palacios Berraquero (Founder & CEO\, Nu Quantum) \nTitle: Entanglement Networks for Datacentre-Scale Quantum Computing \nAbstract: The quantum computing industry has been sustaining fast progress in scale-up\, with quantum processors now demonstrating error-corrected logical qubits and first indications of computational advantage for narrow scientific problems. This talk will look ahead to what we require to reach full commercial advantage\, and show that there is a key piece missing: modularity. The scaling path we envisage will entail building multi-core quantum computing clusters at the datacenter scale\, and eventually connecting tens or hundreds of modules together to enable multi-million-qubit machines. \nThis talk will describe our distributed quantum computing architecture underpinned by photonic interconnects. It will outline the technical challenges that need to be overcome to progress the technology\, and how Nu Quantum is working to build the pieces needed to scale out towards useful quantum computation. \nRegistration: https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/987b8330-9bac-43ba-a6c5-ff7d97987276@8f0d452c-b7a4-4964-b810-8c397374477b
